Sue Lowe
Sue is an experienced principal who has worked in both regional and country schools in NSW as well as interstate.
Sue has worked closely with her educational community to support cultural change and growth, especially in the normalization of digital technology. Under Sue’s leadership the school introduced the Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) program. The school was and still is leading the way in this program. It is now firmly established as a national innovative centre which is contacted on a regular basis for support and direction by other schools (private, state and international). |
The implementation of this program has impacted greatly on learning outcomes as teachers move from teacher centred learning to student centred learning. Each staff member, including SLSOs have become leaders in their own right as technology has become normalised throughout the school and the classroom walls have been opened up to both parents and outside educators.
In the recent years the school’s programs have been featured in:
• SCAN, the Department’s journal for teacher librarians
• Education Services Australia’s journal Connections
• Educational Technology Solutions
• Australian Educational Leader where the article has a leadership focus.
• Broulee PS has also been selected as one of the case studies within the ACER Press international study on Leading a Networked School Community.
Sue has:
• Presented at Australia’s leading technology conference EduTECH, in Brisbane 2013 and at the National Technology Conference on
the Gold Coast in 2012
• Been Interviewed for Today’s Schools, a weekly TV series on Channel 31, Melbourne
• Represented principals on the department’s BYOD working party.
• Received the Excellence in Leadership Demonstrated by a Principal award in 2013
